The Successful Pilot Episode of "Ganadong Turismo" Radio Program
To effectively promote and advertise the tourism-related programs and projects of the Provincial Government of Occidental Mindoro, the Provincial Tourism Office launched the Ganadong Turismo radio program in partnership with 102.3 Care FM Mamburao. The pilot episode aired on January 31, 2025, and the program will continue to broadcast every last Friday of the month from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. The pilot episode was hosted by DJ Yuzo and Ms. Bless from the Provincial Tourism Office and discussed various ongoing tourism-related projects in the province. These included the development of Gumaer Falls in Mamburao and Carindan Lake in Santa Cruz, and the ongoing improvements to the Pasalubong Center. The episode also highlighted the completion of the province’s Sustainable Tourism Master Plan, which was initiated by Governor Eduardo B. Gadiano during the first year of his term and finalized last year. Ms. Bless also shared the latest data from tourLISTA, reporting a total of 191,987 tourists accommodated in lodging establishments and 785,915 visitor arrivals at various tourist attractions.
She also highlighted the top tourist destinations and accommodation establishments in the province. During the program, Ms. Bless emphasized the importance of responsible vlogging, especially given the increasing number of tourism vloggers in Occidental Mindoro. She reminded content creators to be mindful of ethical considerations when showcasing the province’s attractions. Before concluding, Ms. Bless urged tourism stakeholders to renew their DOT accreditation, noting that the majority had yet to do so. The pilot episode was a success, marking the beginning of insightful discussions and productive conversations about tourism in the province. This is just the start—more engaging episodes are ahead in the continuous effort to promote tourism in Occidental Mindoro.
