Occidental Mindoro Celebrates World Tourism Day Through Coastal Clean-Up and Tree Planting!

As part of the celebration of World Tourism Day, the Provincial Tourism Office conducted activities that highlighted the importance of tourism in peace-building and demonstrated a commitment to environmental sustainability. A simultaneous coastal clean-up and tree-planting activity was organized at Tayamaan Beach and the Mangrove Area in So. Bunot, Barangay Tayamaan, Mamburao. These initiatives contributed to preserving and conserving the local environment, showcasing the province’s dedication to safeguarding its natural resources. Supported by various departments of the Provincial Government of Occidental Mindoro, barangay officials, and national agencies such as the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), and Occidental Mindoro State College (OMSC), the celebration was a collaborative effort showcasing unity in action. The celebration highlighted the profound impact of collective efforts by involving a wide range of participants from various sectors. This annual celebration of World Tourism Day serves as a reminder of the significant role tourism plays in connecting people and cultures while promoting peace and sustainability for future generations.
