Mount Iglit Baco Natural Park
If you’re planning to visit Mts. Iglit-Baco Natural Park, you should know that it spans across three towns in the province. The majority of the park is located in Sablayan, but visitors typically enter through Calintaan. This park is particularly special because it’s home to the Tamaraw, a dwarf buffalo that’s only found on the island of Mindoro. You’ll be able to explore its evergreen forests and grasslands, which serve as the ideal habitat for these majestic creatures. But that’s not all there is to see at Mts. Iglit-Baco Natural Park. It’s also home to the Mangyan Tribe, the Tau-Buid. This makes it a unique opportunity to experience the rich biodiversity of the area while learning about its native culture. As you hike to the peak of this ASEAN Heritage Park, you’ll be surrounded by some of nature’s most beautiful flora and fauna. And if you’re lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of the Tamaraws up close through the lens of your telescope.
